High Standards Continue at Salcey - December 2010

Salcey is delighted to have achieved approval from BM TRADA Certification to the Environmental (ISO14001:2004) and Occupational Health & Safety Management (ISO18001:2007) systems it operates.

Salcey Group - Finalist in the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards - November 2010

Salcey Group is delighted to have been chosen as a finalist in the Environmental Award category of the 2010 Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards. This year marks the 20th year of the county’s biggest and highest profiled business event which Salcey is pleased to be part of.

The Environmental Award category recognises businesses that have a strong environmentally-friendly ethos and can demonstrate the awareness of environmental issues to staff, customers and suppliers. At Salcey the environment is high on our agenda and we are thrilled that our commitment to implementing programs and measures that enhance our environmental performance wherever possible has been acknowledged.  

Category judge, Sean Meagher from Mainland Group, comments: " Salcey Group have gone to great lengths to ensure the business respects the environment. Building onsite facilities to treat waste sewage, returning clean water once filtered via a reed bed. Careful planning to use local work groups to reduce travelling whenever possible all helps to reduce the company’s carbon footprint".


Reed Clearance Contract Demonstrates Salcey\'s Range of Services - November 2010

Working in partnership with J Breheny Contractors, one of the largest privately owned Civil Engineering Companies in the UK, Salcey are carrying out reed clearance in ditches for the Bedford Drainage Board as part of flood relief work.

At sites in Huntingdon and Bedford Salcey’s expert crews are using specialist equipment for reed cutting, clearing, flailing bank tops and de-silting to achieve the desired outcome. At Salcey, protecting the environment is extremely important and therefore all works are being carried out in a way that respects the local ecology.
