Salcey Wins Railway De-vegetation Contract - October 2010

Salcey is delighted to be working with Story Rail, the specialist railway infrastructure subsidiary of Story Group. The contract is part of the restabilisation of a railway embankment at Harlestone, Northampton where Salcey are carrying out de-vegetation work.

Salcey has utilised its experience and range of plant, including 13 tonne excavators and 18” conveyor belt led chippers, for high productivity to clear the areas in short periods of time to enable the civil engineering works to get under way.

Hard Surface Weed Control - September 2010

As an Approved Contractor for Kier Group, a leading construction, development and service company, Salcey are delighted to be carrying out hard surface weed control for Kier Harlow.  Salcey are experts in this area and equipped with modern machinery to complete this task in a safe, effective and environmentally responsible way.

In the Spring and Autumn our technicians will be controlling weeds on pavements, around lamp columns and other street obstacles in Harlow to keep the town tidy and to assist with grass cutting and September marked the start of this contract.  We have also been consulting with Kier to assist with the control and eradication of Japanese Knotweed in the area, which can be problematic if allowed to colonise, and looking forward to delivering the appropriate course of action for them.  

Salcey Supports its Sister Company Stateside - August 2010

This August has seen Salcey supporting its sister company in Massachusetts, USA, to help carry out GPS Tree Condition Surveys and plotting of trees on CAD drawings for Wenham Town Council.

The town currently has limited records of its street trees and their risks, so Salcey’s experience and expertise have been utilised to help to address this complete with recommendations.  This is an ongoing project which Salcey is delighted to be involved with.
