Salcey Take to the Water - February 2017

A Salcey crew have taken to the water to complete vegetation clearance work at a pond located at Olympus Park, Gloucester.

Our brief was to remove all self-set vegetation from the pond, prune back all shrubs located within beds adjacent to the water to provide clearance and pollard to mature Willows adjacent to the water.  The pond work was accessed by means of a boat and qualified operatives and shows the diversity of work that Salcey are able to complete.

Clearance Vegetation located on the Walls of St Andrews House - March 2016

Working on behalf of a national landscape company, we mobilised a 3 man arb team, 60t crane, appointed person and site supervisor to remove all the self-set vegetation growing on perimeter walls and at the base of the walls causing obstructions at the headquarters building of the Scottish building.

The work was conducted from the car parks at each end of St Andrews House and completed over two days. The operative completing the pruning work was safely attached to the crane hook and lowered onto the face of the wall to remove the vegetation. When working at the base the operator was lowered to this point via the crane and then securely attached to a wire anchor point. Arising waste was either lifted by the crane to the car park or lowered to the bottom of the bank.

Storm Damaged Cedar - March 2015

Salcey were called by a landscaping and construction company to help a resident in Watford.

Storm conditions caused a split in the stem of a large Cedar tree to the rear of the property due to  decay at the base. The stem fell over the fence narrowly missing the residents green house.  Unfortunately the remaining stem was too weak to remain and it took five days to dismantle.
